DON'T BLINK (Collateral Damage)
Summary
DON'T BLINK is a game developed by Collateral Damage for iOS and Android. This privacy policy explains how the app uses your device camera and TrueDepth API for blink detection and what information the app does (and does not) collect.
Face Data and Camera Access
Our game relies on detecting when you blink as its core gameplay mechanic. To achieve this, the app requires access to your device's camera and facial tracking capabilities. Depending on your platform, we use different technologies:
iOS (Apple Devices) - TrueDepth API
- What information is collected? We use Apple's ARKit and the TrueDepth API to detect the position and state of your eyes (specifically, whether your eyes are open or closed). We do not collect, store, or map any other facial features.
- For what purposes is this information collected? The face data is used exclusively in real-time for the core gameplay mechanic: detecting when the player blinks to advance or interact with the game.
- Is the data shared with third parties? No. Face data is never shared with any third parties.
- Where is this information stored? The face data is processed locally on your device in real-time. It is never stored on the device, and it is never transmitted to our servers or any remote location. The data exists only in memory for the fraction of a second needed to detect a blink and is immediately discarded.
Android Devices - Google ML Kit
- What information is collected? We use Google ML Kit's face detection to monitor the open/closed probability of your eyes.
- For what purposes is this information collected? The data is used strictly in real-time to detect player blinks as the primary gameplay mechanic.
- Is the data shared with third parties? No. We do not transmit your camera stream or face data to Google or any other third party.
- Where is this information stored? Processing happens entirely on-device. No face data or video streams are saved to the device or transmitted to our servers.
You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in your device settings. However, without this permission, the core blinking version of the game cannot function.
Information stored on your device
The app may store game progress and settings locally on your device (in app storage). This information is used to make the game work as expected and is not sent to Collateral Damage.
Data we do not collect (currently)
We do not currently collect analytics, create user accounts, or require you to provide personal information (such as name, email, or phone number) to use the game.
Third-party services
The app uses Google ML Kit for on-device blink detection. We do not send your camera stream to Google for processing.
If you download the app via Google Play, Google may collect and process information as part of providing the store and distribution services, in accordance with Google’s policies.
Children’s privacy
DON'T BLINK is intended for users aged 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Content notice
The game may contain fantasy violence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves (for example, if we add analytics or online features). When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
